Sims Takes Over Binding Manufacturer

Sims Snowboards has leased the C-Tech Plastics manufacturing plant for production of 2001/02 Link Bindings. In doing so, Link Bindings will be produced in the same facilities with the same staff and suppliers as previous years.

“What this means,” says Sims VP of Sales Todd Liotine, “is retailers and consumers can expect the same high quality that Link Bindings has been known for in the past.”

Link Bindings became popular for their patented technical advancements in composites and tooling during the mid 90s. After having limited time to search overseas for a new manufacturer after the sudden closing of C-Tech this past June, Sims decided instead of compromising the quality of Link Bindings, to take over production themselves.

“We signed a short term lease on the plant, rehired the facility’s staff, and have taken matters into our own hands,” says Liotine. “Plus, history shows we usually sell out of our binding stock mid-season. Now with control over the manufacturing, we have the opportunity to produce more for re-orders.”

Sims anticipates bindings to hit store shelves by early October. Questions or comments can be directed to: info@simsnow.com
