BROOKLYN PARK, MN — Abe Teter signed a contract with Palmer Snowboards in late November, after being a free agent for only two months following his departure from Burton Snowboards. He will also participate in the creative and technological direction of the freestyle line of Palmer Snowboards, bringing new ideas to an already cutting edge board company.
A native of Vermont, Abe placed second in halfpipe at the 2001 US Open, where he is a crowd favorite. Although he didn’t make the finals at the Open the year before, he got more play in the magazines than the top three podium finishers combined, with shots of his lofty airs and signature style. He currently holds the number 5 spot in Transworld Snowboarding “Exposure Meter”, which is a gauge of photo coverage in the major Snowboarding publications.
Abe was recently featured on the cover of the November issue of Snowboarder Magazine. where he is also interviewed for his standout performance at Superpark V, the annual media event hosted by the magazine that rallies the best boarders in the world to ride professional caliber jumps in front of the cameras. Snowboarder Magazine senior editor, Pat “The Eye” Bridges, quotes, “Abe’s unique style, and uncanny ability to push his riding beyond that of his colleagues has made him a perennial favorite.”
Additionally, Abe’s older brother, Amen, was hired as team manager for Palmer USA Ltd. Owner of Source Management, Amen is working with some of the nations top riders like Abe Teter, Travis Rice, Adam Petraska and Greg Wilson.
As the new point man for Palmer, Amen hopes to “bring synergy to the creative forces of the small powerhouse team and help the talented crew accomplish their professional goals”.
