CANOGA PARK, CALIFORNIA – Type A Snowboards is pleased to announce the addition of Quim Cardona, Ben Ashburner, and Lane Knaack to its team.
Quim, a well know professional skateboarder, also enjoys snowboarding as his second sport. Quim will contribute a lot of energy and creative artwork to Type A. Quim feels that Type A is one of the few snowboard companies that has specifically directed it’s marketing to crossover skateboarders and their needs. Quim skates in the New York City area.Ben at age twenty-two can be considered a veteran of the snowboard industry having been a featured pro for almost 6 years now during which time he even has had a pro model with Liquid Snowboards. Ben is also sponsored by Volcom clothing and appears in Volcom’s new movie “Luminous llama”. Ben lives in the Lake Tahoe region and rides a lot with his roommate and best friend Joel Mahaffey.
Lane from Manchester, Vermont has been a fixture on the Junior World Halfpipe Team for the last few years and most recently finished fourth at the Jr. World Championship halfpipe last season in France. He also placed second at last season’s US Nationals in the men’s halfpipe at Waterville Valley, NH. Look for Lane to have a big season this year as he plans to move to Mammoth, California to train for this coming season of competition.
This season Type A has introduced a brand new line of sidewall constructed boards to complement its famous cap constructed boards. With a strong marketing push to highlight its new team, Type A will focus it’s marketing to target the skateboard influenced consumers. Jack Coghlan, marketing manager says, “We believe that skateboarding has always driven the look and feel of the action sports market especially snowboarding. Type A has most recently moved into a new ‘state of the art’ 28,000 square foot office and warehouse to facilitate its dealers and customer service and has gone on a hiring spree to support it’s marketing, product, and sales departments.
