Vancouver, BC- West 49 together with Slam City Jam areputting on a the West 49 Tech Deck Challenge forCharity a huge competition with all profits going toFamily Services of Greater Vancouver youth programs.
West 49 is putting the finishing touches on a replicaof the Slam City competition course, thanks to JayBalmer who broke with tradition and donated hisdesigns of the actual course for the cause, beforethey were revealed to the public. “It’ll be great tohave a Tech Deck version of the course on-site, sokids can go and recreate the pro’s runs and try out afew lines of their own.” Jay Balmer, AssociateProducer, Slam City Jam. “It’s not something weusually do, but it’s fun event and for a few dollarsyou’re helping out a good cause.”

Just $5 will get you a Tech Deck fingerboard, entranceinto the West 49 Tech Deck Challenge for Charity and achance to compete along side the pros in thefingerboard comp for great prizes. All this and yourcontribution goes to help kids in Vancouver who needit.
Family Services of Greater Vancouver operates over 20youth programs for young people dealing withhomelessness, poverty and abuse in BC’s lowermainland. These programs serve thousands of children,youth and their families.

It’s a wonderful skateboardfundraiser and we really appreciate the assistance forthe Agency.” says Elaine Carol, Director ofDevelopment, Family Services of Greater Vancouver. “Itmeans so much to us to have an event with so manyyoung people involved, since all the money raised isgoing to help children and youth aged 6- 21 yearsold.”
Our goal at West 49 is to raise at least $5000 throughproceeds generated by the West 49 Tech Deck Challengefor Charity over the weekend.
