With each collection Sitka tries to expand the use of bamboo and organic cotton. The is season you’ll see the semi-fit tee cut, which has a longer back than front and bit more of a boxier fit. We collaborated with some artists on graphics, including Ben Frey and Bruno Ripoche. We also has a new denim collection with new fits and denim that we’re really excited about.
What is Sitka doing differently with women's apparel this season?
We’ve offered an unisex cardigan that fits in well with the over sized pieces for women. We also expanded our accessories collection to feature more bags and hats than ever before. The new t-shirt cuts are different for us as well and offer more diversity to the collection.
What are some key design influences or inspirations this season?
Sitka is a brand from the West Coast of Canada, so the coast and our beautiful surrounds will always be an inspiration. Our roots are in surf and skate culture, but we’ve grown to encompass elements of music, art and city life as well. Sitka offers a good blend of back woods and city dweller style.
What successful trends/ styles from past seasons have carried over into this season?
We consistently do well with our adult ‘onesies’. Hoodies and jackets have always been a solid section of our line. The fit and fabric quality is unparalleled in this industry and our customer knows that. We continue to offer our classic Suzie Q and 2nd Peak hoodies, and some staple jackets, and also offer some fresh styles into the categories every season.
