Zumiez 100K Puts Another Notch On Its Belt

During Zumiez annual 100k last year, Zumiez sales associates nearly trampled each other in excitement while rushing the stage towards surprise guest presenter Jason Lee. It was one moment of many on what was an entirely crazy, exciting, and fun evening. To everyone present that night in 2004, the event seemed hard to top. On Tuesday, January 11, 2005 Zumiez’s Marketing and Events Director Karyn Lewandowski proved everyone wrong.

This year’s 100K party was once again held at Copper Mountain, Colorado. Started in 1986, by Zumiez founder Tom Campion the 100K party is the store’s way of rewarding employees from its 142 store fronts. Each sales associate who sells more than 100,000 dollars in one calendar year are flown to the party. This year that meant just less than 500 sales people were qualified.

In addition to the sales associates nearly 150 Zumiez vendors (read industry manufacturers and pros) were on hand to help with the celebration and awards ceremony. The party itself has become something of a cult-like event to the people in the industry
