“These guys are true professionals and such great athletes,” said Blind Team Captain Bill Weiss. “This is just how they skate everyday individually, and it’s awesome to have the team event and have them recognized together.”

Coming in at a close second, Team Flip kept the pressure on, coming in with a solid score of 324.40. Team Santa Cruz finished out the podium with a third place score of 303.40.

Dew Tour initially introduced the brand-new format to their revamped competition during the 2016 Long Beach Competition to great success.

Returning brands this year included two-time winner Blind, Flip, Plan B, Birdhouse and more, as well as new additions Zero and Dark Star for the 2017 competition.

For participating brands, not only is the Team Challenge a way to show what they and their riders are capable of – it’s also a chance to engage with the skate community in a grassroots, organic way.

Fans had the chance to watch action firsthand, as well as connect with participating brands and vendors at the event. With experiential marketing on the rise and the face of retail changing, being a part of the biggest event in skateboarding certainly has its perks.
