What Kolohe Andino’s U.S. Open performance reveals

Brazil’s Alejo Muniz won the Vans U.S. Open of Surfing, but 19-year-old Californian Kolohe Andino stole a lot of the show. The runner-up finish for Andino was meaningful. He’s has had a rough time in the ASP big leagues, with no major results to speak of at the elite level. This result secures his ASP Tour spot, but also highlights a big challenge facing Andino: performing well in the exotic reef and point breaks of the Dream Tour.
