NBC and the White House announced Monday, that while on a three-day trip to Alaska to promote climate change, President Obama will tape an episode of "Running Wild with Bear Grylls."

“The two will come together in the Alaskan Wilderness,” the statement reads. “President Obama will become the first U.S. president to receive a crash course in survival techniques from Bear Grylls.”

“Running Wild” follows Grylls, a wilderness and survival expert, as he takes celebrities (i.e. Kate Winslet, Kate Hudson, Zac Efron and Channing Tatum), into the backcountry to teach them survival skills that test their mental and physical endurance.

Grylls typically challenges his guests in some unique way, like when he had Hudson eating ants and Rodriguez dining on “backcountry soup” made from a mouse soaked in her own urine.

Urine seems to be a favorite catch point of the former member of the British Special Forces and the topic of a recent petition: Make President Obama drink his own urine while filming “Running Wild with Bear Grylls” in Alaska.

News of it was spread by Grylls himself, via Twitter:

At last count, 77 citizens have signed it.

The special episode is set to air later this year.
