Pret-A-Surf literally means "ready to surf," and that's what you'll be when you pick up a suit from the swimwear brand's new capsule collection with J.Crew. That's because all 11 pieces are designed specially with surfers in mind, a thoughtful decision from founders and designers Jillian Demling and Karen Mulligan, who were weary of searching for suits that looked stylish and stayed put in the surf when they founded Pret-A-Surf back in 2010.
A leap from independent designer to a stint with J.Crew has come to mean that "you've arrived" in the fashion world, and that pretty much sums up the success of the new collection. It's pretty, it's classic, and it's perfectly in line with everything we've come to expect from J.Crew—think elegantly cut bikinis in polka-dot red, white board shorts, a subtle butterfly print, and red-and-white-striped rash guards.
