For those not familiar with Dave Rastovich, he’s an incredibly honest and humble man, who’s also an accomplished surfer, ocean activist, and long-time supporter of the renowned Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
Given Rastovich’s background, it’s no wonder that Southern California-based lifestyle and eyewear brand Electric recently tapped him to be the face for their latest campaign. They describe him as “home grown, hand built, and self-sufficient” and they’re not exaggerating.
In 2006, Rastovich (or “Rasta” for short) and fellow activist Howie Cooke co-founded the group “Surfers for Cetaceans” to protect whales, dolphins, and marine life. In 2009, Rasta received one of just 200 invitations to attend former Vice President Al Gore’s “Climate Project-Asia-Pacific Summit,” and his ongoing involvement with protecting the sea has transformed him into global ambassador.
Check out this short video featuring Rasta in his element, in Byron Bay, Australia, where he resides.
