Monster Energy Kawasaki Celebrates X Games Medals

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki made its debut at X Games in style as Josh Hansen claimed the gold medal in the Super X competition at X Games 15. He joined the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team as the defending champion of the event and showed the speed to win again. In the Women’s Super X event Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green racer Elizabeth Bash took the Bronze Medal after finishing third.

Back to Back

Hansen took control of the race on lap 12 as he got by the race leader and never looked back. Once Hansen got out front, he used his experience to take the win.

“I’m stoked,” said Hansen. “I was just trying to be consistent, ride good and make sure I didn’t override the track. It was a good race and I want to thank Mitch (Payton) and the entire Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team for giving me a chance to win again.”

Mitch Payton’s Pro Circuit team had never competed at X Games until this year and they showed the same resolve they show in AMA competition by taking the win.

“We came into the race expecting to win,” said Payton. “Josh did an great job working with the team the last couple of weeks to get ready for X Games. He rode an exciting race and I’m happy we put this program together.”

X Games Bash

Bash came to her first X Games looking to get on the podium and earn a medal. It was mission accomplished as she walked away from the 2nd annual Women’s Super X with a third-place finish and a bronze medal. The track was a big change for Bash as she encountered Supercross-type obstacles for the first time in her career.

“The X Games is a really big deal,” said Bash. “We put on a good race even though we don’t spend a lot of time on Supercross tracks. I didn’t really have any expectations going into the race. I’ve only practiced four or five times on a Supercross track so I just wanted to go out and have fun. The atmosphere was amazing and everyone treated us like royalty. I hope I can come back and do it again next year.”
