Talk about getting an education: While most kids were at home finishing their schoolwork, 12-year-old Lilliana Libecki was summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest mountain.
In a new video from Goal Zero, the preteen and daughter of National Geographic explorer Mike Libecki shares insight from her trip up the highest freestanding mountain in the world. More than a father-daughter excursion, Africa marks the seventh continent Libecki has traveled to.
With a passion for humanitarianism, the 12-year-old planned her mountaineering adventure between working on a project to install solar power to light a local orphanage, church and public school with the help of the Goal Zero team.
"I hope while traveling I can give back to the planet and people in some way to better the quality of life," Libecki says.
