New Balance skateboarders shoot video on iPhone, plan for film release

On the tails of their recent skate video, New Balance Numeric team riders are about to be featured in another film.

On Nov. 12, 5boronyc will be releasing a film in New York with New Balance skateboarders.

Last month, the team released Data Roaming, a skate video entirely shot on an iPhone 6.

“The biggest benefit of shooting on a small setup is that you can get around a big city just on your skateboard,” said one of the photographers, Ryan Allen in a behind the scenes video. “You don’t have to lug a backpack and tripod. You’re not left hanging out with security while packing up your stuff at the end of the day.”

Most of the footage for Data Roaming was shot around eastern Canada and features some big names in skate including Arto Saari, Tom Knox, Jordan Taylor, Tyler Surrey, Anthony Shultz, Jordan Trahan, PJ Ladd, Marquise Henry, Jack Curtin, Levi Brown and Tom Karangelov.

Some of the team just went to Sydney for an upcoming film.

The New Balance Numeric team formed in 2013 to promote New Balance's line of skate shoes, of the same name.
