Skateboarder Bob Burnquist retires from X Games competition

Legendary vert/big-air skateboarder Bob Burnquist announced his retirement from competing on the X Games stage this past Saturday at X Games Minneapolis, after over 20 years of stellar performances.

“My story started back in ’95, here at X Games; this was my last one, 2017,” Burnquist said in his post-event interview. “I appreciate everyone. I’m glad to end it here in Minneapolis.”

“I’ll keep skating. Obviously it’s not retirement … there’s no such thing,” Burnquist continued. “But my story here is done.”
