While Mammoth Mountain, Squaw Valley and Timberline Lodge are still going strong, the 2016-17 ski season has essentially come to a close in the United States.
But there’s no reason to weep for the passing of the season — even though it truly was a historic one — because, due to the fine minds at POWDER and NEWSCHOOLERS, the kickoff for the 2017-18 ski season is less than three months away as First Chair Festival prepares to launch Oct. 7 in Denver.
In its second year, First Chair Festival has taken up a new home in the Mile High City’s Sculpture Park, but it will pack all the non-stop action of last year’s edition.
The festival will feature a pro rail jam, gear sales, top musical acts (last year’s festival included performances by Too $hort and Boombox) and multiple film premieres, as well as a craft beer tent, to celebrate the advent of the upcoming ski season.
While the film and music lineup is yet to be announced, tickets are currently available for the special pre-sale price of $10, so grab yours now before they raise the price and stay tuned to GrindTV for updates on First Chair Festival in the coming months.
