From the tunes pumped through headphones on the slopes to the bands playing at after-parties and on-mountain events, music has always been a big part of snowboarding. It is in this spirit that Burton Snowboards recently signed on to sponsor the third-annual Frendly Gathering taking place at Timber Ridge in Windham, Vermont, on June 28 to June 29.
The grassroots festival was started by Burton Snowboards team riders Danny Davis and Jack Mitrani—two of the founders of the Frends crew. Started as a logo for a group of six of their friends, Frends has grown into a small snowboarding-driven accessories company with the mantra: There’s no ‘I’ in Frends.
"Our passion to build the 'Frendly Gathering' comes from growing up within the very inclusive community that snowboarding represents," said Jack Mitrani in a press release. "We're beyond excited to be taking The Frendly Gathering to the next level with a little help from our Frends at Burton Snowboards."
This year’s Frendly Gathering will feature musical appearances by Beats Antique, Keller Williams, Rubblebucket, Paper Diamond, Conspirator, Toubab Krewe, Assembly of Dust, Twiddle, and more. There will also be a skateboard ramp, hiking, swimming, yoga, live art, and plenty of vendors.
But don’t take our word for it—take a look at the video above to hear it straight from Danny and Jack themselves.
