Winter is starting to show it’s face

Oh La Niña. How we love thee. Just when we though you’d left us for good it seems as though you’ve come crawling back for more. It’s not even like we even treated you badly. We just used you…over, and over, and over again.

It’s the beginning of October and mountain resorts in the Tahoe area such as Kirkwood, Squaw Valley, and Sierra-at-Tahoe along with our favorite Eastern Sierra mountain Mammoth Mountain have already received their first snow dusting.

There was quiet talk about another early winter and with the chance of jinxing it…we’re going to go ahead and say that chatter was true. Some resorts have already claimed a November opening, however, with the snow we’ve seen already, who knows when the first lifts may start turning.

We’ve been antsy since June so one can imagine the adrenaline that’s pumping in anticipation for the first turns of the new season. Time to clean your base, dust off the bindings, and break in those boots – winter is here. Officially. You can start jumping for joy now.
