1st Annual Da Hui & WolfpakNorth Shore Beach Clean Up& Winter Surf Kick-Off Party

Event to take place on Sunday, November 13, 2005 @ 9am. Meeting at Velzyland Park (Waiale’e Beach Park) @ 8:30am for instructions. Beach clean-up will start at 9am at Ke Iki Beach up to Velzyland Park, approximately 5 miles long. This beach clean-up is being organized to preserve our North Shore’s beauty and pristine beaches. Clean up will cover over 10+ surf spots on the North Shore (Log Cabins, Rock Piles, Off the Wall, Pipeline, Sunset Beach & more). Many of the world’s top professional surfers such as: Sunny Garcia, Makua Rothman, Myles Padaca, Marcus Hickman, Bruce and Andy Irons, and more, will be participating in this event as a way to give back to the community who is the foundation of their success in the world of surfing.


Da Hui & Wolfpak are collaborating to organize an event for professional surfers from around the world to come together and give back to the community who surrounds their way of life. Mahina Chillingworth, Board of Director, Hui O’ He’e Nalu & Kala Alexander, team rider for Da Hui, President of the Wolfpak, and actor from the movie “Blue Crush; have stepped forward and created this awesome event. An after beach clean-up pa’ina for the beach clean-up participants, hosted by Da Hui & Wolkpak; offers food, non-alcoholic refreshments & live music by: B.E.T., NATURAL VIBRATIONS & SUDDEN RUSH. Our sponsors will also be donating tons of prizes for participants. One in fact has donated a surfboard to be given to the keiki who picks up the most trash. Surfers will be available to sign autographs for the keiki. The City & County of Honolulu, Parks Dept. will also be donating needed necessities for this clean-up, and are highly appreciative for Da Hui & Wolfpak’s enthusiasm to give back to the community.


Formed in 1976, the Hui O’ He’e Nalu (aka: Da Hui) was created to perpetuate & support the Hawaiian art of surfing. But also, to give back to the North Community with hosting annual events: The Hui O’ He’e Nalu Easter Egg Hunt is in its 18th year; The Independence Day Paddleboard Race – 28th year; The Backdoor Shootout -7th year. Da Hui also formed its own successful clothing line currently being sold around the world. Wolfpak, founded by Kala Alexander, is well known for the protection of the surfbreak “Pipeline, and other well-known spots, by informing inexperienced surfers the hazards of surfing waves on the North Shore. Wolfpak also has a successful clothing line popular with the surfing community.
