Costa Mesa, California - March 23, 2011 - Hurley is proud to announce the signing of Puerto Rico-based surfer Brian Toth. The 25-year-old from Isabela has long been considered one of PR's most talented surfers of all time, proven once again with his recent victory at Puerto Rico's largest local pro event - the Corona Surf Circuit.
"I'm thrilled to join the Hurley family," Toth said. "I appreciate the opportunity they've given me to help further my surfing career. I'm stoked."
Tothy's humility, coupled with his positive attitude, is the reason he has grown into the ideal ambassador for Puerto Rican surfing. But it's his surfing ability - a rare mix of rail-to-rail power, progressive flair and a healthy appetite for big barrels - that has garnered him attention and respect from Puerto Rico to Hawaii. Though his freesurfing continues to turn heads at home and abroad, Brian Toth intends to qualify for the ASP World Tour. Expect to see him slugging it out once again in the Primes and Six-Stars in 2011.
"Whether as a Junior or a pro surfer in his mid-twenties, Tothy's always been a dominant — if not the dominant — force in Puerto Rican surfing," Pat O'Connell, VP of Sports Marketing at Hurley, said. "We're excited to have a surfer of his caliber in the fold and we look forward to helping Brian continue to represent the island of Puerto Rico the right way."
