California Surf Museum To Screen Between The Lines April 18

Narrated By JOHN MILIUS (Apocalypse Now – Big Wednesday)

Between the Lines explores the choice that most draft age surfers faced during the Vietnam War era: either go to war or evade the draft. It was one or the other. Between the Lines delves into the lives of two surfers who choose opposite paths, Pat Farley and Brant Page.

Many of the film’s personalities are expected to be in attendance and the theater lobby will be filled with a variety of Vietnam photos and memorabilia. CSM member Bruce Blandy will display the surfboard he crafted in Vietnam. DVDs of the film will be available for sale, as well as the companion book honoring the movie and the first-ever Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Paddleout (which was held in Oceanside in 2007).

The 5pm VIP Reception ($25) includes film, food, beverages, live surf music by the Duo-Tones and a special opportunity to mingle with cast, crew and surfing personalities before the movie.

General admission tickets are $10. Tickets are available online and at the museum. The theater will open to the general public at 6:30pm, with opening ceremonies at 7pm, film at 7:30pm.
