Check out Mr. Pipeline Gerry Lopez river surfing in Oregon

Gerry Lopez was the man at Pipeline when it was first starting to seriously be surfed back in the late 1960s and early 1970s. His connection with the wave was undeniable and his prowess and finesese with it were the reasons he was dubbed “Mr. Pipeline”.

Awhile back, Lopez migrated to Bend, Oregon to snowboard and make surfboards. We’ve known that he’s been doing some surfing up there as well in the Pacific, but this video discovered by SURFER from the Bend Whitewater Park shows that Lopez is also getting his fix in freshwater, too. Wonder if river surfing is up to snuff with perfect Pipeline and G Land? The legend continues.
