April 14, 2011 – HUNTINGTON, CA – DC is proud to welcome pro surfers Mark Healey and Reef McIntosh to its Surf Team. Mark and Reef join pros Craig Anderson, Ry Craike, Clay Marzo, Marc Lacomare and Dillion Perillo on DC's Surf Team.
"We're really excited to add these guys to the DC team," said Brian Cassaro, DC's Action Sports Marketing Director. "They are both a great fit for the brand and exemplify qualities we look for in our athletes – unmatched dedication, world- class talent and personalities that are larger than life."
Mark is known for his big wave prowess and his ability to conquer anything in his path. He grew up on the North Shore of Hawaii, where he learned to surf with his dad on some of the biggest waves around. When Mark's not surfing you will find him in the water enjoying his other passion, spear fishing. As for plans this year, he'll be out searching for the next big wave. Be sure to check out Mark's recent profiles in Surfing and Surfing World magazines.
"I'm proud to be part of one of the most exclusive group of crazy and fearless athletes in action sports," said Mark. "I am stoked to be wearing DC footwear and I'll be damned if I can't put that DC sticker in a few new places that humans have ever seen before."
DC's other newest edition, Reef, is known as a big wave specialist who has made quite a name for himself over the years tearing up the shoreline of Pipeline. Chances are you can find him any day of the week perfecting his already legendary skills. Always focused on the next big wave, and constantly looking to see what else he can conquer in the water, Reef has his sights set on winning the renowned Quiksilver in Honor of Eddie Aikau event.
"I can't believe I'm now a part of this team," said Reef. "DC has a history of having amazing athletes and a great program. I'm super stoked to be a part of it."
