Highlights of Huntington Surf & Sport’s win at the OSSC National Championships

The 2016 Oakley Surf Shop Challenge wrapped up October 6-7 at Lower Trestles in San Clemente, California. The famous cobblestone break provided clean, waist-to-shoulder high waves for the 7 regional qualifier surf shops.

Those shops were: Surf Ride (Southwest), Sweetwater (Mid-Atlantic), Town & Country (Hawaii), Heritage (Northeast), Quiet Flight (Southeast), Pacific Wave (Northwest) and Huntington Surf & Sport (West).

Two former Championship Tour competitors were in the water with C.J. Hobgood representing Quiet Flight and Brett Simpson flying the Huntington Surf & Sport flag.

Simpson’s air-game and usual success at Lower Trestles was tough to match. Combined with teammate Brad Ettinger’s always solid surfing, team Huntington Surf & Sport were crowned National Champs.
