Last pet you owned: Oscar, our border collie who we took to live in France with us. He now lives at Hossegor with my mate Max.
Last book you read: The Da Vinci Code. Loved the suspense, found it hard to put down.
Last heat you called that left you speechless: Andy Irons versus Occy at the Quik Pro France, 2005. I was working alongside the velvet voice of John Shimooka. Andy did the most incredible backside maneuver I’ve ever seen in my 30 years of surfing. Shmoo and I were left speechless. Had to take a break after that one.
Last surf movie you loved: Surfers: The Movie, produced by Michael Tomson. Depicted surfers in the light they should be. Made us look like one big happy family and something cool to be a part of.
Last spray you got (on a board): An old favorite of mine from the green and yellow Town & Country days. Maybe it’s to try and make me feel younger again?
Last meal you ate: My wife Katie’s famous lemon chicken and hot potato dish, with a glass of merlot-can’t beat it.
Last time you had to drop in: Superbank, Gold Coast. I hate it up there, way too crowded. You have to be a dickhead to get a wave. Takes the pleasure out of it.
Last thing that made you proud: Watching my kids at swimming lessons today-best thing ever.
Last time you wore a suit: Waterman’s Ball in France 2000. Got told I looked like the president, so it was the last time I’ll wear one.
Last celebrity you rubbed shoulders with: Dennis Hopper. Hanging out with him and Ross Clarke Jones at the 2004 Boost Mobile Pro in California.

Last time you slammed the breaks on one of those classic Pottz backside pig-dog tube stalls: Desert Point, 1997, recovering from the worst injury of my career. Six to eight feet with only one other guy out for four days-as good as it gets.
Last surf trip you went on: Drive Thru South Africa in 2005 with Greg Browning and Taylor Steele.
Last holiday you went on that didn’t revolve around surfing: Central Australia with my wife Katie, no kids, helicopter rides, lying by the pool, long lunches, loads of sleep and exploring the outback. Loved it.
Last piece of clothing you actually bought: Couldn’t tell you. I get given clothes or Katie buys them for me.
Last time you felt truly surprised: When the doctor told me there were two babies in there not one (Pottz has twins). He said it all in French.
Last score you got on the golf course: An 89 at San Juan Capistrano with my mate Kirk.
Last time you stared death in the face: Heavy surfing injury at Burleigh Heads in 1997. Snapped the nose of my board off in my stomach. Thank God they don’t make boards like they used to.

Last air that blew your mind: Timmy Curran’s fifteen-foot backflip in the expression session in France, 2005.
Last air you made: Yesterday-an eight-foot reverse, landed it perfect. Ha, ha. No seriously, I can’t remember.
Last time you mimed “Walk This Way”: Fiji, 2004 with Dean Morrison, Jake Patterson, and Tom Whittaker. They made me do it, and I had a lot of liquid courage.
Last time you cried: When my kids, Jack and Bella, were born three-and-a-half months premature-it was touch and go there for a while.
Last punch you threw: Mucking around with Hoyo and Tom Carroll. Watching the Knights play the Bulldogs opening game of the rugby league season up on the Gold Coast. The rest you’ll have to ask Hoyo.
