September 1, 2008: – – The renowned event in Galicia will once again give the world’s best WQS surfers the opportunity to keep going on their European campaign, as the ASP World Qualifying Series (WQS) 5-Star event will be crucial for the ratings.

Being the fifth of six events in a row in the the 2008 ASP WQS European leg that started in Newquay a month ago, the Movistar O’Neill Pantin Classic will welcome 160 surfers from around the world including WQS leaders for a week of intense action.

The Women’s event, an ASP WQS 2-Star, will be another attraction as the ASP European Women’s champion will be crowned in Pantin and current ratings’ leader Pauline Ado (FRA) will be eager to confirm her supremacy over fellow competitors. Caroline Sarran (FRA), former ASP Women’s World Tour campaigner, remains in contention for the crown as well and will be looking forward to conquering the crown.

The event starts Tuesday, September 2, and runs until September 7.
