NLand Surf Park in Texas closes after less than a month for ‘extensive repairs’

After less than a month of being open to the public, NLand Surf Park in Austin, Texas shut down for November for extensive repairs on Nov. 4.

NLand posted on Facebook stating “The liner in our reef section has been compromised more so than expected by fin and nose cuts and we need to do more extensive repairs. Therefore, we will be closed through November and potentially beyond.”

KXAN reports further on this issue, with their investigation finding that this liner damage was causing flooding in the surrounding area for NLand’s neighbors.

This is just the latest setback in the line of many for NLand and other wave pools utilizing the Wavegarden technology.

As you’ll recall, NLand was delayed for months because of issues with the Travis County commissioner’s office. And Surf Snowdonia in Wales closed for months because of mechanical issues.

While it remains to be seen how NLand can bounce back from their current liner issue, one has to wonder if this will be a recurring theme for them.
