Rip Curl USA is pleased to announce the newest addition to the executive team with the appointment of Rick Petri as the Executive Vice President and Chairman of Men’s Surfwear. Rick’s primary responsibility will be to head up all men’s product categories with a strong focus on men’s surfwear. Rick will also strategize with the Rip Curl crew on Marketing, Sales and Retail initiatives.
Rick has spent the last 18 years involved with the surf industry including a short stint as accessories product manager for Rip Curl from 1991-1993. Most recently, Rick has spent the last six years with O’Neill where he held a range of management positions including Marketing Director, Brand Manager for Accessories and Footwear, Director of Men’s Merchandising and Design, and, for the last year, he served as Vice President of Men’s Merchandising and Design.
Regarding his new role with Rip Curl USA, Rick stated, “I am stoked to be coming back to Rip Curl and starting a new chapter in the Search. It’s sort of a homecoming for me, as I have the opportunity to work with many of the same US and Australian crew I worked with before. The challenges, opportunities and my new responsibilities make my job all the more exciting!
