Sea Monster Ball This Friday

World Famous Surf Artist Drew Brophy Tops List of Unique Artists In Ocean Themed Art Show

Dana Point, CA (June 6, 2005) – This Friday, world famous surf artist Drew Brophy leads a group of celebrated artists in the Sea Monster Ball.

The show is being billed as an interactive art show by the sea, and will feature the work of such notable artists as: Drew Brophy, who psychedelic surf art graces surfboards and canvases across the world, Phil Roberts, a renaissance artist and illustrator of The Book of Waves, John Warren, renown for his impressive rock-fish sculptures, Perry Faanes, sculpturist known for his unique “in-the-tube” glass pieces, and Kyle Goodwin, whose one-of-a-kind glass etchings and light boxes are highly sought after by collectors.

A portion of proceeds from the show will go to benefit the Surfrider Foundation and Ocean Institute, to assist them in their efforts in protecting beaches and coastlines and education the public on beach and ocean environments.

“We created The Sea Monster Ball to bring together art, ocean and the environment,” says event organizer Maria Brophy. “From the moment we named it, this event has been surrounded by a strong, positive energy.

The event will take place this Friday, June 10th at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point Harbor. The show is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Media representatives will be able to enter the exhibit area at 5:30 pm to view the work and interview the artists.

The evening will also feature live music, a bonfire, cocktails and appetizers. There will also be a free raffle, with a chance to win a beach cruiser, surfboard and other great items. Attendees must pre-book at to be entered in the raffle.
