Surf Diva Founders Recognized By Inc. Magazine!

La Jolla, CA, March 31, 2005—Surf Diva founders Izzy and Coco Tihanyi are listed as top entrepreneurs by Inc. Magazine.

The article appearing in the April 2005 issue of Inc., the magazine for growing companies, listed Izzy and Coco Tihanyi as one of the 26 most fascinating entrepreneurs in the world. The Tihanyis were listed primarily for “kicking sand in the face of conventional wisdom. The list of entrepreneurs also includes the likes of Richard Branson, Martha Stewart, Diane Von Furstenburg, Michael Dell and Fritz Maytag.

The article discusses how the twin sisters from La Jolla, CA have grown Surf Diva into an internationally recognized brand. Once a small surf school for women, Surf Diva now employs around 50 instructors and offers year-round instruction to both women and men from around the world. The Divas have developed a clothing line, which is sold by around 50 retailers in the U.S., Japan, and Europe. They also opened their first boutique in May 2004 in La Jolla, California.

“We’re totally stoked to be listed with the likes of Martha Stewart and Richard Branson! It’s just fantastic to be able to make a successful business of out something that you love doing anyway and to be recognized in this way is the icing on the cake for us said Izzy about the article.

The Surf Divas recently completed a U.S. tour to launch their latest venture; a new book about women’s surfing, “Surf Diva: A Girl’s Guide to Getting Good Waves. The book is available at all good book stores and retails at $14.

A surf school, a clothing line, a shop, a book. . . . what’s next for the Surf Divas? It certainly seems like the wave they’re catching is one that leads straight to success!
