Surf film contest winner Matt Payne releases first Hawaii edit

Our confidants over at Surfing magazine ran a little amateur photography and film contest a while back called “Baby Cobras,” which scoured the earth for young talent. Film winner Matt Payne was sent to Hawaii this year for his first assignment on the North Shore, and here is his first edit: “Tiki Stardust and The Paradise Club.”

The kid definitely has a low-fi style that is pleasing to the senses, peppered with some eclectic music and an awesome candid conversation with Kelly Slater. It’ll be great to see where young Matt goes from here.
