Big-wave surfing is all about being at the right place, at precisely the right time.
On Tuesday, the infamous big-wave spot Nazaré showed its teeth, and a handful of hard-charging big-wave surfers were there … and they were on it.
The crew that was there took to Instagram to share with us some of the highlights from the day.
Francisco Porcella dropped into an unbelievably technical wave, successfully making it to the shoulder and earning him a “Ride of the Year” entry for the Big Wave Awards:
