I like how the term "surfing" is used to describe so many different things. That said I wanna bring a surfing bear to Lowers to do some blocking for me…

The bear on ice was a spectacle for dozens of anxious onlookers that lasted for hours before the animal made it safely to land near Bayfield, Wis.

A bear stranded on a Lake Superior ice floe in northern Wisconsin created an Easter surfing spectacle for dozens of anxious onlookers that lasted for hours before the animal made it safely to land.

“It was crazy,” said Hannah Stonehouse Hudson, a professional photographer in Bayfield, Wis., who captured the drama in pictures and posted them on her blog, www.stonehousephotoblog.com. “No one has ever seen anything like this.”

Hudson said the floating bear was first spotted by passengers on the Madeline Island ferry at about 7:45 a.m.

“I was in the coffee shop when one of the ferry boat captains told me it was out there, and [the ferry operators] were trying to go past it with out harming it or scaring it,” Hudson said.
