Tavarua Releases Pressure Drop

Tavarua Clothing Company has teamed up with Surf Dog Records and Smith Optics to create its first surf movie. Produced by Puerto Underground series creator Dave Ogle, Pressure Drop: Memories, Myths & Magic 1984-2001 is a story of incredible risk, hard work, lasting friendships, and the creation of a place of life-changing potential.

The movie unveils the beginnings of Tavarua through the eyes of the camp’s founders, Scott Funk and Dave Clark — perhaps two of the least known but most influential surfers of our time. There are also insightful stories from some of the original Fijian staff.

But it’s not all talk and no action. The surfing talent of Tavi teamriders Jesse Hines, Homer Henard, Andrew Oliver, and Andre Dustow are thrown in, and special guest Chris Ward and Tavi boatman Eric “Frog” Nelson are also featured in arguably the best surf ever filmed at Tavarua Rights. The result is a movie that runs the fine line between an insightful documentary and a modern day, high-performance surfing video.

Pressure Drop will land in stores this summer.
