Punta Hermosa, Peru – Thursday, October 21, 2010 – The PacSun USA Surf Team made its presence known in the first day of competition at the 2010 Billabong ISA World Surfing Games in Punta Hermosa, Peru. All four Open Men and both Open Women completed their first rounds–and each of them finished their heat with a win.

The surf was bigger–4 to 7 feet–and continues to build through today and Friday. The Surfline Official Forecast is calling for a doubling in size with sets in the double to triple overhead range and larger sets showing 16 foot faces.

“We’ll see some big surf and some bigger surfing,” said Ian Cairns, Head Coach of the PacSun USA Surf Team. “It will get interesting–and we’re ready for it.”

Longboarders Tony Silvagni and Steve Newton are scheduled to compete today–along with Round Two for the rest of the PacSun USA Surf Team.
