In the Grom final it was once again the Suhadolnik brother’s, Dave and Nick taking over. They surfed strong threw out the day and looked to be the favorites in the final. Nick opened the final with a high score of a 7.0, but lost momentum and fell victim to Tanner Long who clinched the win with some very impressive surfing. Tanner walked away bag full of gear, a Sector Nine Skatedeck, and custom trophy. Dave Suhadolnik finished in third with Nick Olsen, Ian Berry, and Patrick Rihl rounding out the final.
The Girls Final saw some new faces mixed with some familiar ones. However, it was show down between Anistasha Ashley and Katie McCLoude who had both won an event this season, but had yet to surf against each other, so the bets were placed and when the smoke cleared, Anistasha stood victorious, with Katie in a respectable second. Anistasha took home Santa Cruz Skatedeck and Bag full of Gear. Linsey Brown finished in third with Steffi Bryson, Coco Jono, and Summer Weedley rounding out the final.
In the Junior final, Jarod Lane led from the start, but he had his work cut out for him by J.C. Toro, who was closely nipping at his heals the whole time, but as the horn blasted to end the final, Jarod managed to hold on to the win by a slight margin. He earned himself a backpack full of gear, a Body Glove Vest and 2000 valuable VQS points. Rounding out the final was Eric Smortum, Daniel Blaze, Patrick Cahill and Jordan Baroni.
The Pro-Am Final was intense! With $400 Dollars cash on the line and five qualifying spot for VQS Champs still up for grabs, it was an all out brawl. Eli Mirandon, Sean Taylor, Nick Kovack and Zach Keenan exchanged blows all the way to the end. Eli threw up a wicked front side air, but came up short to Nick Kovack who bashed in a set left hander to earn himself the win, $400 cash and the overall season title. Zack Keenan, Sean Taylor, Blake Howard and Temujin Matsubra rounded out the final.
