Wildfire Burns 30 Acres Near Jaws On Maui

A wildfire near the renowned “Jaws” surf area in Haiku that started at 5:51 p.m. yesterday has burned an estimated 30 acres, according to Maui County officials.

Two helicopters assisted five engine companies in the firefight on the makai side of Hana Highway until darkness set in.

No structures are in danger and fire officials reported the fire is burning toward the ocean. There are no road closures or reported injuries.

Perhaps the fire will consume these junk cars on the bluff near Jaws…
