KnowShow came to a close on Thursday, July 31, but not before we had a chance to talk with many of the skate-specific brands at the show, including Chocolate, DGK, Gold, Expedition, and Organika, as well as LandYachtz, adidas, DVS, Lakai, and Dwindle. Burton was showing its newly created line of camping gear, while Outdoor Tech was boasting a new Turtle Shell Boom Box. TransWorld Business also participated in the KnowShow soccer match, which took place after day two. This year’s team members received a full kit from the adidas crew. Until next time, thanks Vancouver and thank you KnowShow.
We circled up with many of the surf brands at the show Wednesday, including Hurley, Billabong, Rhythm, Hippy Tree, Rusty, Sanuk, Reef, RVCA, while also checking in with some swim-centric brands like L*Space, Amuse Society, Vitamin A, and Mink Pink. The Source skate and snowboard shop and Saskatchewan’s Cab were walking the show, and most booths were filled with buyers from various regional and national retailers throughout the day.
KnowShow was in full swing Tuesday, July 29, in Vancouver, Canada, as brands from the Action Sports and Youth Lifestyle worlds collided to show the latest product to retailers and buyers from the region. The usual heavy hitters like Obey, Nixon, Herschel, Poler, and KR3W were on hand holding things down, while a couple of emerging brands like Vissla and Northern Lights made their debut at the show. NRI also held several retail specific industry education sessions on building the longevity of your business and best practices when marking down product. Showgoers were running on Banquet and Red Bull, and the overall atmosphere was a mix of buyers and retailers from Zumiez to smaller, independent shops like Royal Sports Shop, Propaganda Board Shops, Old Faithful, and Nelson, BC’s Tribute Boardshop.
