Title: Start Your Engines: Motocross Exposure-Meter 2013

Starting 2013 with a clean slate, Ryan Dungey claimed the hole shot this month and leads the Exposure-Meter race thanks to a balance of ad and editorial coverage in all three magazines, including a special subscriber TransWorld Motocross cover. January's Racer X, cover boy, Justin Barcia, also had a great month thanks to solid results, which yielded to plenty of editorial points and a second place finish. Back to back champion, Ryan Villopoto, sits in third, while other big names like Eli Tomac, Mike Alessi, and Kevin Windham round out the top ten.

Blake Baggett used large ads with companies such as Thor to beat out Dungey for the ad title this month. In the logo war, Honda, Kawasaki, and KTM are separated by a very small margin; however, Dunlop took the top spot. John Basher was busy with his finger on the trigger and has started off 2013 with the lead in the photo race. Stay tuned to see if Villopoto can reclaim his crown or if someone else will take the top spot in '13.

EDIT WARS

New Dawn For Dungey

Ryan Dungey started off 2013 with solid edit presence in all three magazines thanks to strong results and his aerobatic shifting antics at the 2012 Monster Energy Cup. Justin Barcia scored big thanks to the January cover of Racer X, while Taka Higashino took the third spot with help from an editorial feature and a TransWorld Motocross cover. Reigning edit champion Ryan Villopoto isn’t far behind and scored edit points in all three magazines.

AD WHORES

Blake Bags It

Thanks to full-page advertisements from companies such as CTI and Scott, Blake Baggett was able to edge out Ryan Dungey, who scored big from companies such as KTM and Fox. Mike Alessi also had a solid month using a plethora of ads from multiple companies to sneak into the top five. Separated by only hundreds of points, stay tuned to see how the ad race unfolds.

Logo Wars

Dunlop Does It Again

2012 logo champion, Dunlop, has jumped out to an early lead with a strong presence in all three magazines. Alpinestars sits in second place, just ahead of its competition such as Fox, Scott, and Thor. Only a few points separate Honda, Kawasaki, and KTM. Just points separate the top ten brands; stay tuned to see who wins.

Photo Finish

Bashing The Competition

TransWorld Motocross photographer John Basher jumped out to an early lead thanks to a cover shot and editorial features in TransWorld Motocross. Simon Cudby also had a strong month along with Adam Duckworth who’s photos could be found in Racer X. Brendan Lutes took the fifth spot and held it down for Motocross Action Magazine.
