30/30: Denver’s Pusher BMX

Clayton Brown has been a presence in the Colorado BMX scene for the last quarter century and has long known that Denver riders needed a rider-owned shop to call their own. “In November of 2010 I was talking to Sean McKinney at S & M Bikes and I mentioned how Colorado does not have a BMX shop and that I thought one would work out here because our scene is so big. I just had a feeling it would work,” says Brown. After receiving an offer from S & M that he couldn’t turn down, Brown scraped together the cash he had and was able to lock down a location on Denver’s East Evans Avenue—opening just in time to catch the Christmas rush. After making it through the winter months with unexpected success, Brown is confident that Pusher will continue to grow and serve a prominent role in building the Colorado BMX community. Check the video as Brown takes us on a tour of his shop and explains the philosophy behind his business.
