"Desi has a long history with the company and in our industry,” said founder Chris Miller. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience and we're excited to have him lead our marketing and team efforts into the future."
This comes on the heels of the departure of former VP of marketing Jeff Taylor, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities.
"The past 14 years truly have been some of the best times of my life," Taylor said. "Desi has been my right hand man for years, and I'm confident that he will take the reigns and drive Adio successfully forward."
Desi's new position is part of a larger restructuring plan to streamline the business and create efficiencies with their new parent company. The goal of all of this is to focus the efforts of the Carlsbad office on the functions of sales, marketing, design and development. Adio continues to field one of the strongest teams in the industry and are moving forward with their core group of skate team members including Kenny Anderson, Nick Dompierre, Ed Selego, Ernie Torres, Joey Brezinski, Danny Montoya, Steve Nesser, Brian Brown, Alain Goikoetxea, Chris Roberts and pro snowboarder Shaun White among others.
Brand manager Dave Ahumada said: "Going forward Adio will be focusing on what we do best, producing quality skate footwear designed and inspired by our team riders.” Look for more info on the Adio team and their upcoming HD DVD when the new website debuts later this month.
