Alive & Well Seattle
Film producer Andy Mininger has put together a closer look at the story behind Alive & Well Seattle, a street-inspired skate boutique that was founded by entrepreneur and restauranteur Marcus Lalario and George Otto. The Capitol Hill retail shop, which was founded in 2012, features reclaimed wood fixtures crafted from an old barn in Oregon, and touts brands such as Nike, Vans, Black Scale, and local hardgoods brand Sausage Skateboards.
“Everyone who works here has a lot more to offer than just being on staff,” says Lalario. “We have photographers, videographers, fashion designers--everyone does stuff outside of here that adds to the store. We want people who are in the streets, who are active. They’re down for their squad, they’re down for each other, and they’re self motivated. It’s easy to back someone who’s that motivated--who gets us excited about, ‘these dudes are wearing your shit’ …”
Most of the brands, artists, and creative minds the brand works with are located in Seattle, explains Lalario.
