Amer Sports Plans To Sell Direct


Salomon's e-commerce site in France is live.

Amer Sports, the parent company of Salomon and Bonfire, recently announced that it plans to start selling direct this fall, first in Europe and then the United States.

Salomon Snowboards and Bonfire will not be selling direct for the 2011/12 season.

In 2010, the company reported a combined sales of f €1.7 billion ($2.45 billion) annually, and has about 7,000 employees. The company’s revenue increased about €140 million ($203 million) in its winter sports segment from fiscal 2009 to fiscal 2010.

In 2010, snowboarding sales represented about 10 percent for the brand.
