Designed three years ago to spotlight holiday product lines from the action sports and youth culture industries, ASR Holiday continues to grow alongside the prevalence of holiday specific lines.

With the growth of holiday specific product offerings from action sports manufacturers, retail operators face weeks of rep visits during May to preview holiday lines. This is the same time of year that retail summer traffic begins. ASR Holiday offers the industry a one-stop, two-day solution to 4th quarter buying. The event's simple booth design and intimate layout, allow buyers to focus directly on products and write orders.
"ASR Holiday 2007 was a dream and I feel this show is a winner. I was busy previewing the lines both days. There were 2-3 new brands I saw at the show and picked up for my stores. Everything about the venue was great," says Dave Hollander, owner of Becker's Surf Shops.
Many of the buyers attending ASR Holiday in 2007 wrote paper for multiple storefronts, adding to the magnitude of buying power. Strong attendance on the floor included the who's who of Southern California, east coast, Hawaiian and national chain buyers.
The Orange County Fair and Exposition Center garnered rave reviews for its location and convenience. This year's timing provides the holiday line production window with accurate sell-through data. Additionally, the show's dates of May 28 and 29 fall after the Board Retailer Association's Retail Summit, SIMA Surf Summit and traditional opening weekend of summer business, Memorial Day.
