On a sunny Thursday in Southern California, could there be a more favorable place to spend the afternoon than on the deck of Laguna’s Surf & Sand Hotel, overlooking the Pacific? We don’t think so. Combine that with some of the most well-known brands in the action sports industry, and you’ve got Billabong’s second annual trade show in the heart of Orange County. Billabong brought in 140 key accounts, primarily from the West Coast and Hawaii, for intimate, private showings of Billabong Girls, Element, Element Eden, VonZipper, Nixon, RVCA, and the rest of the company’s 11 brands, which were all housed in their own styled-out suites reflecting each brands’ individual vision and direction for their upcoming Fall ’12 lines.
“The setting couldn’t have been better, and to top it off it was a super productive show as well,” says Surfside Sports Owner Duke Edukas, who was in attendance last week. ” It was extremely easy to focus on and analyze our buy without the usual distractions of a normal conventional trade show. The Billabong group does an excellent job with this show, and I have to say, it’s a refreshing breath of fresh air because the atmosphere is so relaxing compared to most trade shows.”
TransWorld Business checked in during the last morning of the two-day event to meet with the entire crew and find out what’s happening with each brand. Take a virtual tour of each brand, see new product, and live vicariously through these photos in case you were sitting at your desk Thursday, instead of at the beach.
