‘Die Posers Die III: Revolution’ Art Show Draws Skate Industry Elite To LA

Tony Alva, founder of Alva Skates, and Richard Villa III created Die Posers Die, an art exhibition held Friday, November 30, at LA’s Exhibit A, featuring art created entirely by pro skaters. Lance Mountain, Christian Hosoi, Steve Caballero, Tony Alva, and Mimi Knoop were just a few with art on display, and the guest list was stacked high with pro skaters and skate industry elite who showed up to enjoy this novel event.

The VIP section out back was the first to fill up, with food from Bull Taco and drinks by Jarritos and Monster. Outside, fans clamored to get pictures with their favorite skaters. Inside the Exhibit A gallery, art lined the walls and music boomed. Alva Skates had some signed classic Alva and Hosoi boards for sale. The real prize for the fans however, were the creative pieces themselves—priced between $150 and $5,000, individual art was up for sale, allowing lucky patrons to take home their very own piece of creative genius from their favorite skater.
