Hayter PR To Manage Smith Optics’ Editorial Outreach

Smith Optics announced today that it has named Hayter Communications as its public relations agency of record to manage all editorial outreach for the brand moving forward. The announcement comes in light of long-time PR/Communications Manager Greg “Chopper” Randolph’s exit after a seven year tenure, to work as general manager and director of PR/marketing for the Sun Valley Marketing Alliance.

"We've known and worked with Ryan and his crew for years," said Tag Kleiner, Smith Optics' marketing director. "It's a perfect fit of brand personalities and we're looking forward to what we'll accomplish working together."

Hayter Communications will immediately assume responsibilities for directing incoming and outgoing media calls, managing insane editorial deadlines and screening the onslaught of free product requests from the army of Smith lovers in the outdoor, snow sports, cycling, surf, paddling, MX, optical and style markets.

"Smith products flat out will make you look like a smarter and more attractive person," said Ryan Hayter, public relations maven. "And the product works. Those combined attributes make for a great story. I encourage every journalist who has ever thought about covering sunglasses for the summer months to call us, like now. It's on."

Celebrating its 10-year anniversary in 2011, Hayter is a full-service communications agency representing A-list clients in the adventure, energy, architecture and design markets. Currently Hayter manages public relations initiatives for Avenir bike accessories, Corvus Energy, Diamondback Bicycles, Full Tilt ski boots, Helly Hansen, K2 Skates, K2 Skis, K2 Snowboarding, Krochet Kids, Line Skis, Pow Gloves, Richlite architectural surfaces, Raleigh Bicycles, Ride Snowboards, Ural Russian sidecar motorcycles, Zoot Sports and other notable brands.
