Duxbury, MA (July 2010) | Bern Unlimited – A grassroots action sports company that specializes head protection – announced today it has hired Ken 'Skindog’ Collins as its new Norcal sales representative. Effective immediately, Ken will oversee all sales efforts for Bern Unlimited in northern California. Ken replaced Kyle Parsons, who resigned to pursue his new sandal company, www.indosole.com.

“Ken Collins is a legend and hero to us at Bern”, Dennis Leedom, CEO and founder of Bern. “What’s amazing is how he’s been able to extend his talents, energy and passion as a surfer into a kick ass sales man for NCal Sales with Volcom. Ken and his wife Annouschika manage their agency with integrity and a high level of support to make sure their customers are dialed in, way successful and happy about it. We are honored Ken has chosen to represent Bern and like many other outstanding Reps. Bern works with, Ken will be a major factor in continuing the momentum and success of Bern for our customers. It’s going to be an awesome ride”

Ken Collins was born and raised in Westside Santa Cruz. One of the most talented surfers to hail from SC, Skinny can surf it all, from 2 feet to 50. From cover shots to spreads, movie segments, awards for huge Puerto bombs, and invites to the most exclusive big wave events in the world, Skinny is world class. Along the way he also developed a very successful sales agency with his wife, Annouschka, repping Volcom exclusively. Bern is the first new line he has added to his repertoire.

With an eye on the future and the action sports biz, Skinny sees the current and sustained growth within the category, as well as the positive aspect of promoting helmet use. “I’ve seen a whole new transition going down up on the mountains, in the skate parks and on the average Joe riding his bike,” Ken says. “In general, kids are going bigger and harder than ever with whatever they are doing. They are also getting smarter as well, because

I’ve seen a lot of them wearing helmets. There is nothing cool about concussions or head injuries. I am very excited to be working with Bern Unlimited, because helmet and head protection is a healthy growing category and now I get to hook up all my bros with the best helmets in the biz! I’m getting Lidz on Kidz, and that feels good.”
