Burton Snowboards is introducing a brand new, four-day invitational, making its debut in New Zealand in Summer 2012. The contest, dubbed ‘Burton High Fives,’ will bring together 60 top snowboarders to battle it out in halfpipe, and slopestyle, as well as in an innovative roster of new contests; skeet shooting, knife throwing, jet boat trials, and last but not least the MINI winter driving challenge. The first annual High Fives contest will replace the Burton New Zealand Open, and is the first event in the Burton Global Event Series- a 5star event on the TTR World Tour.
WANAKA, New Zealand (July 12, 2012) — Applications for High Fives are now being accepted for press accreditation from national and international media. The event will run from August 15-18 and will take place at Snow Park NZ, near Wanaka.

4. After you apply, Burton will send you an email with your credential status
Once press are onsite at the High Fives, Burton will host a fully-equipped media room located above the Woolshed Restaurant and Bar at Snow Park NZ. All press will have access to the media room throughout the competition as their go-to place for credentials, event information and assistance with any press-related matters. Equipped with wireless and high-speed internet connections and work-station areas, the room is an on-snow office for press during the event.
