Oakley Team Invades Los Angeles For X Games 17

Skaters Shaun White, Ryan Sheckler & Bob Burnquist Return with Gold Medal Ambitions

Over the last 17 years Oakley athletes have established a tradition of excellence across the many disciplines showcased in ESPN’s Summer X Games. With nearly two-dozen confirmed Oakley athletes heading into X Games 17, this year promises to keep that tradition alive.

Leading the charge are three of Oakley’s more legendary skateboarders: Shaun White, who took the Skate Vert silver after a two-year hiatus from vert competition in 2010, Ryan Sheckler, who tallied his third career X Games gold in last year’s Skate Street contest and the most decorated Oakley athlete of X Games 16, Bob Burnquist, who stood atop the podium three times last year.

“Summer X Games is the perfect platform for our athletes to shine,” said Matt Swanson, Director of Oakley Sports Marketing – Action Sports. “The Oakley team is competing in almost every event and we are looking to see both, our top athletes and our up-and-coming stars, rise to the occasion on one of action sport’s biggest platforms.”

Other Oakley standouts to watch for include Cam Sinclair, who will undoubtedly be looking for a consecutive Moto X Best Trick gold medal this weekend and BMX rider Chase Hawk whose stylized tricks are sure to be a crowd pleaser in the BMX Park contest.
